Your Funeral

I really do not want to go

To your funeral, oh so far away.

I'm dreading even just to pack.

I fear what that preacher will have to say.

I know I can simply call you.

It's as simple as picking up the phone.

But you are probably sleeping.

Yes, that's it. It's just that, and that alone.

Your funeral is approaching.

I guess I'm obligated to attend.

After all, how could I miss it?

You are my Babcia, my Grandma, my Friend.

You are tending to your flowers,

Or maybe you are resting in your chair.

All I know is that you're okay,

Because otherwise life just isn't fair.

I was there for your funeral.

While there, I received some difficult news.

It's true the earth keeps on spinning,

Except now... it just spins without you.
