Why Now?

For weeks you've let me care for you.

For months you've let me serve you.

Time again and time again

you've let me take a burden from you.

Say not hello.

Exchange not your name.

Don't bother to know me,

Nor let me know the same.

Why is it now...

Why now of all times...

You find a blemish in my efforts...

And so as the crow flies

You cease your avoidance

And prompt' chase me down,

The night you have nothing

for me but a frown....

Why now-

Why now,

As your faith in me dies,

Has the moment now come

you first look into my eyes?
