Touching Loss

Gentle gestures, A tender heart, And careful words Are how we start To show our love When there's been loss. Our touch is soft, And that's because When we need strength In times of grief We reach with roots To soil beneath. We turn to face The shining sky. Learn from flowers Who barely try Yet find their blooms On dreary days. Help plant your friend Who's in the haze. Support their stems To keep them tall. It's okay to Start over small. Be like the rain, Warm like the sun. Remind your friend Their life's not done. Dropping petals And losing leaves Are normal things As your friend grieves. Touch them softly. Let thoughts be kind. Help plant your friend So they will find That they'll still grow, Roots in good soil, And life is still Within the toil.
