Together We Can Do More

For every tree that falls in a forest,

There drops a million seeds.

For the single death that comes of its fall

Are hundreds of lives that it feeds.

For every hour that darkens the night

There glows a trillion stars,

And beams of light rejuvenate growth

even where sunlight is sparse.

If anger is nourished by justice

And planted in untarnished hope,

Together we too may find chance for a life

In which we can do more than cope.
