The Wisdom of Wind

The wind blows coldly through my clothes,
Its icy tendrils curling around my heart.
It whips my hair into my face
And wedges sand into my every part.
It carries with it cruelty,
But it carries mercy with it too.
The wind is mild, and it is wild.
It is as unpredictable as me and you.
Like all of the Lord's creation,
Its existence is designed to be good,
But sometimes I think that the wind
Does not behave quite the way that it should.
Unruly, silly, and untamed,
Alternatively warm and then cold,
The wind closes our eyes, opens our souls,
So the maps of our hearts may unfold.
Learn what you can from the untouchable wind
As it whisks on by and right through.
Let God's voice whisper lessons
That are carried on the wind, passed to you.
