The imaginative mind

Is a treacherous thing.

It opens tomorrow,

Makes possibilities sing.

It stirs up messy questions

In a low thoughtful song;

Like what if there's more...

What if society's wrong?

The imaginative mind

Makes one deviate from

What they're told to be right.

It's like a forbidden psalm.

It lifts up lonely questions

That other eyes can't see,

Like what if I am small,

There's something greater than me?

The imaginative mind

Calls to the seeking hearts.

Seek and you shall find

Where the narrow road starts.

It brings up daring questions

That are only the start;

The one walking beside me,

How does he see in my heart?

The imaginative mind

Is a treacherous thing.

It makes what was once tame

Susceptible to the King.

It brings up deadly questions

Like where do these chains lead?

False princes blaze in fear

For their prisoners are freed.
