She wrapped the gifts And stayed up late So her children Could appreciate A sweet surprise Christmas morning Of presents, laughs, And everything.

Christmas was her Most special day, But her grown kids All moved away. She might have shed A single tear For her last kid Still home that year.

For quite some time Phonecalls were long. She'd serenade Them all with song. She'd talk to them Over the phone. Her great big heart Was ne'er alone.

But as life does, Changes came new. There came grandkids, Thing one and two. She learned to shop On Amazon. Christmas boxes Had their hearts won.

Soon her own kids Were hardly seen! When grandkids came, How she would preen! Back and forth, her Children travel, Bound by cord that Can't unravel.

Now all of her Grandkids live near. But who knows what Will come next year? In the meantime Her smile is wide. Her kids can run, But they can't hide!
