Leave Me in Appalachia

I am where I want to be.

Please do not call me back.

My heart and soul are full.

Here, I sense not what I lack.

My failing body can shout

That I cannot go without her,

But the mountain's untamed heart,

She calls me ever louder.

Leave me in Appalachia.

Ancient woods is where I belong.

I have no place in brick and mortar.

I need to hear the wild's song.
