Keep Going Another Day

It's raining. It's cold.

The road is so long.

I think I'll grow old

Before ends this song.

The end of my rope,

A barren place -stark.

A ballad of hope

Like light in the dark.

It keeps my shoes on.

My wheels yet still spin.

Surely farther yon

I'll escape the din.

Through forward travel

I seek out good cheer

Lest I unravel

By remaining here.

So ye though I walk

Through shadow and death

I don't stop to balk

And thus lose my breath.

I must keep going

And follow the lamp

That never goes out

No matter how damp.

Green pastures await.

My guide knows the way.

I'll keep up my gait

Yet another day.

Kimberlee Long, February 13th, 2021 You know that country song by Rodney Atkins that reminds us when we're going through hell to keep on going? It's my theme song for a while.
