Please just give me a kiss

When you look up to see my face.

Please don't welcome me with glares

Pointed at the clutter of the place.

Please don't sigh at me, love,

When you see that I am in pain.

Please just hold me in your arms;

I promise I will soon smile again.

Please spare me attention

When my body is wracked with sobs.

Please don't lump me in with it

And all the life from me it robs.

Please don't let my illness

Make you think I do not love you.

Please, I'd serve you if I could

And give you everything you're due.

I walk through burning knives.

I walk through burning knives.

My blood is trying to poison me

With the nutrition it derives.

My womb is crawling from its bounds

And my brain tells me to tic.

My diagnosis are a laundry list,

Does that give you the gist?

Oh, and I walk through burning knives.

I walk through burning knives.

With every single step I take,

I walk through burning knives.

Still I work and don't give up,

Though my body breaks more daily.

All I want from you in life

Is for you to please just love me!

So please... my love... oh please,

Forgive me of my many ills.

Please kiss me long and often

And see, with life, how my heart fills!
