If You Raise a Kid with Love

If you guide a kid to walk,

They will grow up to run.

If you show a kid the moon,

They'll be seeking out the sun.

If you take a kid outside,

They'll learn to love outdoors.

If you let a kid go swim,

They'll be sure to leave the shore.

If you teach a kid to read,

They will begin to write.

If you exhibit hate,

They will absorb your spite.

If you treat a kid unkind,

They will treat others poorly.

If you drive a kid away,

You will grow to miss them sorely.

If you kiss a kid's right cheek,

They will become warm inside.

If you call a kid with care,

They will run and will not hide.

If you tell a kid 'be brave',

They will know just who they are.

If you are proud of a kid,

They will go very, very far.

If you let a kid grow up,

They will leave you to explore.

If you raise a kid with love,

They will come back to your door.
