If I Could Walk Outside My Door

If I could walk outside my door

and never have to stop,

I doubt I'd tire to explore

until I finally drop.

I'd sleep there underneath the stars.

The ground would be my bed.

'Neath moon I'd find my healing heart

and sooth my weary head.

Then off again I'd happy go

with the rising of the sun.

The same wonder I would know

as I'd had when I'd begun.

Endless peaks, forever sky,

a long and dusty road.

Ne'r more peace ever have I

than when I yield to Nature's goad.

I would be a happy wanderer

if the wild I could explore.

But I'll never taste adventure

if I cannot walk out that door.
