Find Your Earthworms

Just as earthworms move the soil,

In your own life try to toil

With the help of loyal friends

Who anoint your head with oil.

There are friends who make you smile

But may crack like broken tile.

In troubled times you need friends

Who will go the extra mile.

Let them irrigate your life

With perspective, not with strife.

Don't take council from the friend

Whose input's duller than a knife.

There are times for good-time friends.

Oh, but when the good time ends,

Have not neglected your earthworms

That for your life heaven sends.
