Daydreamer

There she is, the daydreamer,

Drifting away again.

The next time she stirs herself,

Who knows where she will have been?

It might be inconvenient.

Some will say that it's rude

To lose oneself completely

To a carefree attitude.

Who is she to leave us here

In our lives so mundane?

What calls to her wayward thoughts

From outside the window pane?

Yet life is enough toil

To grant her some reprieve.

If we all could follow her,

We would leap to, I believe.

So daydreamer, keep dreaming

Your spectacular thoughts.

Perhaps we'll set down our work

And too daydream like we ought!
