Coach

She knows a part of my child

That I may never meet.

She cares about my daughter

From her hair down to her feet.

She strengthens her in body,

And her words touch her soul.

She knows how to focus her

And set her eyes onto her goal.

Just a quick, passing thank you

Is all she'll sometimes see,

But I hope she knows how vast

The gratitude is from me.

Your child's coach is family

To your child, if not to you.

But that doesn't make their bond

Less precious or less true.

Thank you, beloved coaches,

For all the heart you give.

Your efforts improve entire days

And the lives your students live.
