Very long ago

In a faraway land

A pretty lil fairy

Reached out her lil hand.

On her lil finger

She wore a gaudy ring.

She was known all over

For her big love of bling.

She'd scour the seashore

Wearing a petal dress.

Her wings shone like silver,

Her golden hair a mess.

In both her lil pockets

She'd stuff a lucky shell

Then fly off to a party

And stir up merry hell.

Smelling like the sea

And smiling like the sun,

All she wanted to do

Was have a lil fun!

She'd smile and flirt

And dance with all the boys,

Simpering for presents

Like jewelry and toys.

When the night was done

She'd flit to her lil flower

And tidy her collection

Lazy of her power.

But magic hates greed,

And fairies are subject

To its many rules,

Both subtle and direct.

So before she knew it,

Her shells all turned to sand.

Her messy golden hair

Would fall out in her hand.

Her lil collection

Of gems, jewelry, and glitter

Fell from her flower home

Blown about like litter.

The pretty lil fairy

Who used to want it all

Had to learn the hard way

Pride comes before a fall.

She had to start over

And grow a lil every day,

Until she could be happy

In a simple lil way.
