5 Turtles in the Pond

1 turtle in the pond,

Swimming all around.

4 turtles in their shells

Afraid that they might drown.

"Come," says the huge turtle,

Stretching his lengthy neck,

"Just try it out with me,

If even for a sec."

2 turtles in the pond,

Swimming to and fro.

3 turtles in their shells,

Too afraid to go.

"Come," says the large turtle,

Showing them the way,

"You will have more fun out here;

You're far too bored to stay!"

3 turtles in the pond,

Swimming here and there.

2 turtles in their shells,

Wrapped up in their cares.

"Come," says the small turtle,

Giving them a wink,

"If you keep on paddling,

You'll find you will not sink!"

4 turtles in the pond,

Swimming happily.

1 turtle in his shell,

Feeling quite lonely.

"Come," says the tiny turtle,

As to encourage him,

"Can't you see that just like me,

That you were born to swim?!"

5 turtles in the pond,

Swimming full of joy.

No turtles in their shells

Acting shy and coy.

"Come," says the teensy turtle,

Looking right at you,

"If I can come out of my shell,

I know that you can too!"
