This is a play meant for live theater. Jesus' death and resurrection story, retold through the eyes of Simon and Lucius, a traveling Jew and a Roman Centurion whose lives collide with the arrival of a renown prophet to Jerusalem during the Holy Feast of Passover. This is a work of Biblically-inspired fiction that explores the idea of what two of the most under-acknowledged people in the Biblical account may have experienced during the events we now celebrate at Easter.

I was not only given opportunity to write this Easter play, but also to direct it! I worked with the incredible talent and fortitude of Stage 1 Drama Team, a local group of regular people who create and put on live theatrical productions for Rocket Town Church in Titusville, FL.
I was so blessed to have the team that I did. They dedicated so much time and energy into this production, and all for not a cent in pay! I was thankful just to have free help, but to have been presented with the God-given talent each one of them brought to the project was phenomenal!
Even with all of our efforts and talents, however, nothing is possible to go as smoothly and wonderfully as it did without God! Wow, did He move in us from week to week! We were more than a cast of volunteers. God brought us together into a family that works as hard as it plays -no pun intended!
When we put it on Easter morning, April 1st, 2018, three people were confirmed for salvation, and everyone went home reminded of Jesus' incredible sacrifice and calling on their life. I call that a success!
Thank you, Stage 1 Drama Team, for presenting this play better than I ever could have imagined!

This was such a rich and powerful play. Perfect for Easter performance.
